Our Story

From the beginning, it has been the Bogue Animal Hospital mission to provide comprehensive, quality veterinary care with concern, compassion, and excellence. Through the generations, we have sought this same purpose. We have built Bogue Animal Hospital on a strong legacy that we are committed to upholding! As an AAHA accredited animal hospital, we are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in veterinary medicine. We’ve maintained these high standards since we first became accredited in 1963.

Bogue Animal Hospital has a long and rich history in the community of Wichita. The original Bogue Animal Hospital, which was located at 1613 E. Douglas, was purchased in 1930 by Joseph A. Bogue. In 1953, his sons Robert and Richard joined the practice. Richard Bogue opened Bogue Animal Hospital West, at 429 Maize Road, in 1961. After Joseph Bogue passed away in 1965, Robert maintained the east side location until 1978 when he moved to 421 N. Webb Road. Robert retired in 2001, and Richard in 1993, at which time Richard’s son Gregory Bogue purchased the Bogue Animal Hospital West location. Since 2007, he has increased ownership and continued to grow his team into the incredible hospital we have today.

Community Involvement

If Bogue Animal Hospital’s history says anything about us, it is that we are committed to our community. We work closely with local organizations to provide service and support. Some of the organizations closest to our hearts are Victory in the Valley and Pregnancy Crisis Center.

In addition to our accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), we are also affiliated with the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and Kansas Veterinary Medical Association (KVMA). We strongly believe in active involvement in the greater veterinary community because it continually educates us on the latest and best veterinary medical techniques, all for the benefit of our patients.
